Read a project's activity

All plansMember

A project’s Activity tab is its running record: who changed what, and when. It answers “what happened here this week?” without opening every task.

It is on every plan. Anyone who can open the project can read it: its owner, its members (any project role), and Owners, Admins and Managers of the organization.

In the project’s tab bar, open Analytics, then Activity (the last tab in that group). Its address is the project’s address with ?view=activity, so you can link straight to it.

The latest 50 entries, newest first. Each reads as a sentence, such as “Dana Lee changed status of task “Sign the lease”: TODO → IN_PROGRESS”, with the time it happened (“3 hours ago”) and an icon for the kind of change. The item in the sentence links to it, unless it was deleted.

What reaches the tab:

  • Tasks: created, assigned, status changed, other fields edited, collaborators added or removed, a file attached, a dependency changed.
  • Comments on a task, an issue, a proposal or the project, with the first words of the comment, including replies sent by email.
  • The project: created, its status or details changed, a schedule pushed, a file imported (with the file name and how many tasks, milestones, links and custom fields it brought), the closeout started.
  • Issues: created, changed, moved, deleted, a file attached.
  • Change requests: submitted, decided and implemented.
  • Pages and ideas: a page created, published or deleted, an idea created.
  • AI and agents: changes made through the AI assistant or a connected agent, attributed to the person or agent that made them.

You see every person’s entries, not only your own. The exceptions follow the item’s own rule: a private idea shows only to the person who made it, and a draft page only to people who may edit pages.

Milestones, epics, documents, wikis and timesheets keep their own history and do not appear here. A deleted task is in the recycle bin.

Entries follow your organization’s retention policy for activity and audit records, 365 days on the standard policy, and go with the project if it is deleted.

The Activity tab is the project’s own record, for everyone on the project. The organization’s Audit Logs page is a separate, organization-wide record of security and administrative events, for Owners and Admins on the Enterprise plan; see Read audit logs. What an AI agent did across the workspace is on its own tab there; see Read agent activity.

Can I filter or search the activity? No. The tab shows the latest 50 entries as they are. To follow one task, open it: each task shows its own history.

Can I export it? No. The organization’s audit log, on the Enterprise plan, can be exported.

Why don’t I see a change I made a moment ago? The entry is written right after the change. Reload the tab; if it is still missing, the change was to something this tab does not list (see above).
