Unlock the paid features of Onplana Schedule

Pro planAnyone signed in to the organization

Onplana Schedule is free: opening, editing, saving, Schedule quality and the health check cost nothing. A group of commands that match Microsoft Project’s Project ribbon unlock when the app is signed in to an Onplana organization whose plan includes them. There is nothing to buy inside the app, no licence key and no second account: the app reads the plan your organization is already on.

Command Where Plan
Set a baseline and clear one Plan > Set baseline… and Plan > Clear baseline… Pro and above
Move the whole plan to a new start Plan > Move project… Pro and above
Link a task to a task in another file Plan > Links between projects… Pro and above
Insert another file as a subproject Plan > Subproject… Pro and above
Plan the work in sprints Plan > Manage sprints… Pro and above
Estimate how likely your finish date is Plan > Schedule risk… Business and above

Automatic scheduling and Reschedule now (F9) stay free. They are Microsoft Project’s manual calculation and its Calculate button, and they were free before the paid group existed.

The lock is on the commands that create or change something, never on reading what you already have:

  • Every dialog above opens, so you can see what it does before you sign in.
  • A baseline a file already carries draws on the Gantt and fills the variance columns.
  • Grey rows for a task in a linked file, and the tasks of an inserted project, draw on every plan.
  • Read file in Links between projects and Subproject works on every plan.
  • A file that already has sprints shows them, read only.
  1. Select Sign in at the top right of the app, or the Sign in button beside a locked control, and sign in to your Onplana organization.

  2. If you belong to more than one organization, choose the one on the Pro plan or above.

  3. Open the command again. The app reads the organization’s plan once per session and again when you come back to the window, so a plan that has just changed unlocks within a minute.

A locked control stays on screen, greyed, with one sentence beside it: the plan it comes with, then why it is locked here.

  • Signed out: “Available with a Pro workspace. Sign in to unlock.” with a Sign in button.
  • On a plan without it: “Available with a Pro workspace. Your workspace’s plan does not include it.”
  • On the Free plan, where the Pro trial is available: “Your workspace can try Pro free for 14 days: an owner starts the trial from the Billing tab in Onplana on the web.”
  • Offline: “Your workspace’s plan could not be checked. Check your connection.” Anything short of a clear answer from Onplana stays locked.

Schedule risk reads “Available with a Business workspace.” The Pro trial does not include it, so its lock never offers the trial.

  • The lock follows the organization you are signed in to, not your role in it: a Member of a Pro organization unlocks the group the same as an owner.
  • If the organization moves to a plan without the group, the commands lock again. Your files keep everything they already carry: baselines, links, inserted projects and sprints all still draw.
  • The website viewer is read only, so it shows none of these commands.

Can I buy the paid group inside the app? No. It comes with the Onplana plan your organization is on. An owner changes the plan from Billing in Onplana on the web.

Does a teammate who opens my file need Pro? Only to change what the paid commands made. A baseline, a cross-file link, an inserted project or a sprint in the file shows for everyone.

Does signing in upload my schedule? No. Signing in reads your organization’s plan. When the app asks before sending a file anywhere is described in Open Microsoft Project files with Onplana Schedule.

Why does the risk run say Business when the rest says Pro? Schedule risk analysis is a Business feature in Onplana on the web, and the app follows the same plans.
