What a build costs

All plans Anyone can build; Owner or Admin to buy credit

Onplana Maker lets you build a real app just by describing it to the AI. Building is available on every plan. A build spends the AI tokens it actually used from your prepaid balance, so a small change costs a fraction of what a whole new app costs, and you can never be surprised by an invoice.

What a build costs

  • A build costs the AI tokens it used, including a build that fails to compile. The model did the work either way, so there is nothing to refund. A failed build, or one that ends up changing nothing, does not use up one of the Free plan’s daily builds.
  • There is no flat fee and no surcharge. A one-line tweak costs a fraction of what a from-scratch app costs, and an unusually large build simply costs what it used.

The Free plan’s daily cap

Every build draws the AI tokens it actually uses from your balance (your plan’s included one-time bonus plus any top-ups). On the Free plan there is also a cap of 25 builds a day:

  • the cap resets once a day (the build panel shows when), and
  • a build that fails to compile still costs the tokens it used, but does not use up one of the day’s builds.

Once you hit the cap, come back tomorrow, or upgrade to any paid Onplana plan: paid plans have no daily cap and include a much larger one-time AI credit, so you build as much as your balance covers.

See your build budget

  1. Open the AI assistant and switch to Build.

  2. The budget bar under the build log shows how many builds you have left. On the Free plan it also shows today’s remaining builds and when the cap resets.

  3. The bar turns amber when you are running low and red when you are out.

When you run out

If you try to build with an empty balance, Onplana stops you before any work starts, so nothing is spent, and there is never an automatic charge. You’ll see Out of AI tokens with a prompt to buy credit, or on the Free plan you can wait for the next day’s builds if it was the daily cap you hit.

The build panel estimates how many builds you have left from what your own builds have actually been costing, so the number gets more accurate as you build.

Buy AI credit

Anyone can build, but buying credit is an Owner or Admin action.

  1. In the build panel’s budget bar, choose Buy credit (or open Organization Settings → Billing and select Buy AI credit).

  2. Pick an amount. $5 adds 800,000 tokens, typically dozens of builds, not a fixed number.

  3. Credit is added to your prepaid balance right away and is shared across builds, AI chat, planning, and everything else AI. Purchased credit is valid for 90 days and is always spent before your one-time bonus.
