Install Onplana Tasks for Android

Onplana Tasks for Android puts the work assigned to you in your pocket. See what is due across every project, add a task in the words you’d say it, tick things off with a swipe, and keep going with no signal, the app syncs your changes when you’re back online.

It’s a companion, not a replacement: the heavy planning (Gantt, dependencies, governance) stays in the web app, one tap away.

It is the same app as Onplana Tasks for iPhone, built from the same source, so the two behave the same way.

Install

Not open to everyone yet

The Android app is built and running, but it is still on Google Play’s internal testing track while we finish it, and that track is invite-only. So there is nothing to install from this page today.

If you want in early, ask us and we will add you to the tester list. Otherwise onplana.com/download is the page to watch: the install button appears there as soon as the app reaches an open track.

Once we have added you:

1. Accept the invitation from the email Google Play sends you. It opts your Google account into the test, which is what makes the app visible to you in the Play Store.

2. Install Onplana Tasks from the link in that email, then open it and tap Sign in with Onplana.

The app needs Android 7.0 or later.

Note

Use the same Google account on your phone that you gave us for the invitation. Signing in to Play with a different account shows no app at all, which looks exactly like an invitation that never arrived.

Sign in

Tap Sign in with Onplana. A secure sign-in page opens on onplana.com for you to approve access, then the app switches to your task list. Your password is only ever typed on onplana.com; the app receives a scoped access token that can read and update your tasks and projects, nothing else.

The connection appears as Onplana Tasks (mobile) under Settings → Integrations → Connected apps in the web app, where you can revoke it at any time. Access expires after 90 days; just sign in again.

What you can do

My tasks groups everything assigned to you into Overdue, Today, and This week, and its tab badge counts what’s overdue. Search the list, or use the project filter to look at one project’s tasks.

• Swipe right on a task to complete it, or to reopen a finished one.
• Swipe left to snooze it to a later day.
• Quick-add in plain language, for example “draft the budget review Friday”, and the app works out the due date.
• Tap a task to open it: change the due date, add subtasks, or comment.

You can also read and file issues and capture ideas, and check on what your agents have been doing, without opening a laptop.

Working offline

The app keeps working with no signal. Completing, reopening, snoozing, and changing priority are all saved on the phone and sent to Onplana when you are back online, so a tunnel or a plane does not stop you ticking things off.

Creating a task needs a connection, because it has to reach the server to exist.

Reminders

One daily reminder, at a time you choose, telling you what is due today. It is off until you turn it on, in Settings. There is no other notification: the app does not buzz for every change on every project.

FAQs

Does it cost anything? No. Every Onplana Tasks companion is free and included with every plan, including the free plan.

Do I need the app to use Onplana on my phone? No. The web app is responsive and works in a phone browser. The app adds offline support, the daily reminder, and swipe actions.

Why is it not in the Play Store yet? It is on the internal testing track while we finish it. Internal testing is how Google Play distributes a build to a named list of testers before a public release, so the app is real and running, just not listed publicly yet.

Will my tasks sync with the web app? Yes, it is the same account and the same data. A task you complete on the phone is complete everywhere.
