Buy Onplana through Microsoft Marketplace

All plans Owner or Admin (and a Microsoft purchaser)

You can buy Onplana two ways: directly (card billing, handled in-app) or through Microsoft Marketplace. Buying through Microsoft puts your Onplana subscription on your Microsoft invoice alongside your other Microsoft spend, which is the right choice if your organization consolidates purchasing through Microsoft or draws down a Microsoft Azure commitment.

  • One bill. Your Onplana plan is billed by Microsoft on your normal Microsoft invoice, per seat.
  • Prepaid seats. You choose a seat count at purchase; that is your seat allowance until you change it in Microsoft.
  • The same product. A Marketplace subscription unlocks exactly the same plan features as buying directly. Only the billing channel differs.

The Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans are available through Marketplace, each as a monthly or annual subscription. The Free plan is not sold through Marketplace, and Enterprise+ is contact-sales. See Compare plans and upgrade for what each tier includes.

  1. Find the Onplana listing on Microsoft Marketplace (also reachable from Microsoft AppSource). Choose Get it now.

  2. Pick your plan and seat count in Microsoft’s checkout, and confirm. This is where billing terms (monthly or annual, how many seats) are set.

  3. Continue to Onplana. After checkout, Microsoft sends you to Onplana to finish setup. Sign in with the same Microsoft account.

  4. Create or attach a workspace:

    • New workspace, start a fresh Onplana organization on this subscription.
    • Use an existing workspace, attach the subscription to an organization you already own, so its plan and seats switch to Marketplace billing.
  5. Activate. Confirming activation is what starts the subscription. Once active, the plan features unlock and your prepaid seats apply.

With Marketplace billing, the seat count you bought in Microsoft is your allowance. You can add people up to that number. To add more, raise the seat count on the Microsoft side (below) and the new allowance syncs to Onplana. Going over your seat count does not remove anyone automatically; it is a prompt to buy more seats. See Manage seats and guests for how seats and guests are counted.

Because Microsoft is the billing channel, you manage the subscription from the Microsoft side (your Microsoft 365 admin center or the Marketplace subscription page): change plan, change the seat count, or cancel. Those changes flow back into Onplana automatically, your plan and seat allowance update to match. You do not change a Marketplace subscription from Onplana’s in-app Billing page.

Prepaid AI credit top-ups (the one-time credit packs that extend your AI usage beyond the plan’s included allowance) are always purchased in-app, from the Billing page, regardless of how you pay for your plan. They are a separate, one-time purchase and are not part of the Microsoft subscription.

Can I move an existing Onplana org onto Microsoft billing? Yes. During activation choose Use an existing workspace and attach the subscription to the organization you already own. Its plan and seats switch to Marketplace billing.

Can I be billed by both Microsoft and card at the same time? No. An organization’s plan subscription is billed through one channel, either directly or through Microsoft, not both. AI credit top-ups are the one exception and are always in-app.

Where do I change my seat count? On the Microsoft side. Update the seat count on your Marketplace subscription and the new allowance syncs to Onplana.

What happens if I cancel in Microsoft? The subscription ends per Microsoft’s terms and your organization returns to the Free plan in Onplana. Your data is retained; you can resubscribe (directly or through Microsoft) later.

Is the price the same as buying directly? The plan tiers are the same. Exact pricing and any Microsoft-specific terms are shown on the Marketplace listing at checkout. See Compare plans for the tier breakdown.
